Avocado is a fruit of a flowering plant family native to south-central Mexico. In Hindi, it is called Makhanphal, in Tamil Vennai pazham, and in Marathi Alpukat, it is extracted from the pulp of Avocado. Its botanical name is “Persea Americana”.
